Position Overview:

Steel Works Construction is seeking an experienced and results-driven Site Superintendent to oversee and manage on-site construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction and be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee daily on-site construction activities, ensuring that all work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and timelines.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers, providing clear direction and support to achieve project goals.

  • Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work meets or exceeds company standards, industry regulations, and client expectations.

  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.

  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction, making adjustments to keep the project on track.

  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, facilitating communication between project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, changes to plans, materials used, and any incidents or delays.

  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and work with the project management team to ensure that the project remains within budget.

  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that all work is being performed in compliance with the project’s specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience may be considered.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision, specifically in commercial construction.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of steel construction methods, materials, and safety standards.

  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is a plus.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to quality control and safety management.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.

  • Certifications: OSHA certification and any other relevant safety or construction management certifications are highly desirable.
